Imran Khan reveals what he did during his sabbatical; explains why Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na might never see a sequel

Aamir Khan’s nephew and actor Imran Khan instantly became the national crush when he made his debut in Bollywood with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. He won hearts with his chocolate boy personality and goofy smile and went on to star in several hits. However, there was a time when his career graph went down and in 2016 he hit a low, soon after his last film Katti Batti failed at the box office. Ever since then, fans have desperately been waiting for his comeback. Well, he has now returned in front of the camera’s lens, but not for a film.

It was for a one day shoot with Vogue where the handsome hunk opened up about his 8 year long sabbatical from acting. Imran shared that his time in Bollywood had been financially fruitful. So he was comfortable by the time he was 30. But he wasn’t that excited about his career and decided to shift focus on what truly made him happy– to be his healthiest and strongest self for his daughter Imara. Imran took a break from acting, but did not cut off from the industry entirely. He engaged himself in world cinema by watching some of the greatest masterpieces of all time, of all languages to learn more about the craft and business.

When asked about a possible sequel of his biggest hit, his debut film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, the actor explained, “Jaane Tu was the story of so many people. But for my part, it was the journey of Jai from boyhood to manhood. It is the story of two young people growing up, understanding what they seek in a partner and finding their way to love. It culminates so nicely that I don’t know what additional emotional growth you could have for these characters.” Well, that is sure to break some hearts.

Well, even though Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na might never get a sequel, we will still patiently wait for Imran’s comeback along with the rest of the country. We wish him all the best!
