Match 57 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is surely not going in favour of the visitors as they lost their four top batters within 12 overs and have scored hardly 69 runs. Adding to the dismay, skipper KL Rahul also departed after scoring 29 runs, albeit in 33 balls.

Rahul, who had spent a considerable amount of time at the crease and seemed to be gaining momentum, unfortunately mistimed a shot to the long leg. Despite not going full throttle on the pull, he ended up lobbing the ball into the hands of T Natarajan, who made a comfortable catch running to his right.

This performance has sparked a series of discussions online, with netizens on X (formerly known as Twitter) suggesting that this may be one of the reasons why he is not part of the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024.

As for the clash, currently, after 15 overs, LSG have scored 102 runs for 4 with Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni at the crease, facing a tall task ahead of them.

While KL Rahul scored 29, Krunal Pandya contributed with 24 off 21. However, other batters, Quinton de Kock (2 off 5) and Marcus Stoinis (3 off 5), departed in quick succession. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up two wickets, while Pat Cummins took one, and Pandya was run out by a brilliant hit to the stumps by the SRH captain.

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and opted to bat at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Both teams made a few changes to their side, with Vijayakanth Viyaskanth making his debut for SRH.
