After Priyanka Chopa and Nick Jonas made their engagement official, wishes started flowing in for the Quantico actor and the American singer on social media. While Shahid Kapoor was not among those who congratulated Priyanka, the actor was queried about his thoughts while promoting Batti Gul Meter Chalu.

While answering media questions, Shahid said, “Many, many congratulations to Priyanka and Nick. Marriage is a beautiful thing, I can say that from my experience and I wish her all the best,” said Shahid. The actor married Mira Rajput in 2015 and have a daughter, Misha, together. They are expecting their second child. Shahid has often spoken about wife Mira and how she has brought stability and love to his life.

Shahid and Priyanka reportedly dated each other for some time around 2000. They also starred in two films -- Kaminey (2009) and Teri Meri Kahani (2012). They also appeared together on an episode of Karan Johar’s TV show, Koffee With Karan.

Priyanka got engaged according to Hindu tradition to American singer Nick Jonas in Mumbai on Saturday. While there is speculation that the couple may get married in October, there is no confirmation about this as yet. Among those who wished Priyanka and Nick after her engagement included Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, Preity Zinta, Bipasha Basu, Masaba Gupta and many others.
