Veteran Malayalam Actors Send A Letter To The Cultural Minister Against Director Kamal
It seems that director Kamal has landed himself in hot water with his comment on A.M.M.A. And now, senior Malayalam actors like Madhu, Janardhanan, KPAC Lalitha and Kaviyoor Ponnamma have sent a letter to Kerala’s Cultural Minister AK Balan. The actors are seeking action against veteran director Kamal for his remark that majority of A.M.M.A members are continuing in the association just for the perks.
In a statement given by Kamal, he clearly stated that 450 out of 500 members in A.M.M.A are not active actors, but they are supporting A.M.M.A to keep receiving their monthly allowances. The actors are quite upset with this remark. In the letter sent to Cultural Minister, they have shared their shock and surprise and responded by saying that they are all working in Malayalam cinema for decades now.
According to some senior actors, A.M.M.A's monthly allowances are more than just allowances for them. It is a gesture of love. Moreover, The senior actors concluded their letter hoping that prompt action will be taken by Ministry of Cultural Affairs against Kamal.
