Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran is all set to release finally after getting delayed from 2017. The film, that would have come long back, will release on 25th May and will bring alive the memories of 11th May 1998 when Indian successfully became a nuclear state, the sixth in the world to achieve the feat.
So what would Parmanu: The story Of Pokhran has to offer that can make us super excited about the film? Well, we look into these few points about the film:
1. It will make the millennials more aware of one of the most important events of Indian history
The second testing of nuclear weapons has been one of the most important events of Indian history in recent times. This operation not only made India a nuclear state but also gave out a clear message that India has advanced in the matters of defense. Even though many countries condemned it, these were the same countries who had also declared themselves nuclear states. It will be interesting to watch how this had unfolded.
2. Who will play Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam?
The former Indian President, Late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, was the chief co-ordinator of the project, alongside R. Chidambaram. It will be interesting to see who plays the late President in the film.
3. Did China supply nuclear weapons to Pakistan?
In the trailer, it has been mentioned that China had been supplying atom bombs to Pakistan. But it has always been mentioned that China just aided Pakistan and never directly supplied arms. We would like to see the film exploring this controversial statement.
4. Could C.I. A ever blow the cover?
In the trailer, we also see Diana Penty's character say that their cover has been blown. But it is being said that the Pokhran tests are called "a serious intelligence failure of the decade".
