Alec Baldwin takes up documentary on Barney Frank as his next

Alec Baldwin’s last project was a documentary, Seduced and Abandoned, and his next is a documentary again, reportedly. He will get on the board of Compared to What: The Improbable Journey of Barney Frank, a new documentary about the openly gay ex-Massachusetts Congressman, as its executive producer. It will debut at the Tribeca Film Festival next month.

Last year too Baldwin did the same for Tribeca documentary Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me which was later purchased by Sundance Selects and in February it opened in the movie theatres. Sheila Canavan and Michael Chandler will direct and produce this new documentary on Barney Frank, an American politician who served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts from 1981 to 2013.
As executive producers Baldwin will also have Geralyn Dreyfous and Jamie Wolf in the club. The documentary will also feature Jim Ready, Hank Paulson, Mike Barnicle, Lance Black, Nancy Pelosi, Alan Simpson, Eliot Spitzer, Steve Elmendorf, Norm Ornstein, Spencer Bachus, Bethany McLean, Bill Press, Hastings Wyman, Charlie Halpern, Mike Oxley, Neil Barofsky, Maxine Waters and Jim Segel. A Q&A session with Frank will also be held on April 27 at the premiere and it will be conducted by Baldwin himself. The Cooler star said in a statement, “Barney Frank is a personal hero of mine.” “His legacy in Congress – and his historic importance as the first openly gay and married Congressman – important for our country,” he added further.
