Mission Control: Krysten Ritter likely to play the lead
Actress Krysten Ritter is in talks to star in a comedy film, Mission Control. It is being reported that Ritter will be enacting the role of a strong head engineer (Mary) at NASA Manned Space Center (in 1965) who leads the Apollo team over there. She’s a lady in a man’s world who is intelligent, quick and talented. When Tom Stone (an astronaut) joins the team, Mary takes it as a chauvinist shot to demean everything she has done over the years.
The reports also suggest that the 32-year-old actress will be a part of the production team of the flick as well with Will Ferrell acting as the executive producer. The single-camera movie will be penned by David Hornsby. The flick will also feature Malcolm Barrett and Jonathan Slavin in the key roles. Ritter has five films lined-up to be released this year; Listen Up Philip, Veronica Mars, Big Eyes, Search Party and Asthma.
