Popular Character Artiste Ravi Is A Happy Man These Days

Popular character artiste Ravi, who is fondly called as ‘Madhubana Kadai’ Ravi, is on cloud nine these days. Ravi started off his career by working in Komal Swaminathan’s plays like Sangeetha Payithiyangal and Iruttil Thedaa-theergal. And since then he has come a long way.

“My passion for cinema brought me to the city from my native place and initially I got offers for stage dramas. I was a permanent actor with Theater Labs and Stage Friends’ plays. Even today, I am part of the Thaneer Thaneer play. I did hundreds of plays, when one day I got the opportunity of meeting Radhikaa madam. She was making Vellai Thamarai television serial then. She wanted to see a monitor shot with my portion and on watching me perform a twelve-page dialogue sequence with ease, she said ‘Let’s go for the actual shot.’ That was a big compliment,” said Ravi.

He joined TV and worked in top series such as Saravanan Meenakshi and Rudhram. But, it was the movie Madhubana Kadai which gave him the needed recognition. The actor has now around a dozen of films to his credit including Kabali with Rajinikanth . The actor has also said that he is up for villainous roles as he believes that negative roles have wider reach among masses. He has Sandakozhi 2, Vandi and an untitled movie in his kitty.
