Ted 2 to open on June 26, 2015

On Wednesday it has been officially announced by Universal Pictures that the sequel to Seth MacFarlane’s hit movie Ted, Ted 2, will release on June 26, 2015. It was earlier reported that MacFarlane would make another Ted film definitely as the first one grossed $54 million in its opening weekend to earn $550 million worldwide.

Ted was also the biggest hit for Universal in 2012. But still the studio was uncertain whether to get involved with the sequel or not and when it would be the perfect time to release the film. Before starting working on Ted 2, MacFarlane is busy with A Million Ways to Die in the West, another Universal project, which also stars Charlize Theron and Amanda Seyfried. This comedy flick is slated to release during May.

Ted 2 will also be written and directed by lead actor MacFarlane. He will be the voice for the loudmouth teddy bear. The movie will also mark the return of actor Mark Wahlberg. A jam-packed 2015 summer, which includes Universal’s Jurassic World, Pixar’s Inside Out and the film adaptation of the Assassin’s Creed video games, has got another entry into the list. Ted 2’s release will be followed by The Terminator reboot and Independence Day sequel one week later.
