Ankita Lokhande to shoot with Kangana Ranaut for Manikarnika The Queen of Jhansi?
TV actor Aankita Lokhande is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Kangana Ranaut’s Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. Latest reports suggest she has begun shooting for her portion in Mumbai.
Ankita will essay the role of Jhalkaribai, a soldier in Rani Laxmibai’s army, in Manikarnika. Krish, who had earlier directed Akshay Kumar-starrer Gabbar is Back, will direct the film.
A DNA report claimed Ankita is set to shoot along with Kangana at Ramoji Studios.
To prep for her role, Ankita is training for sword fighting under the guidance of Hollywood action director Nick Powell, who had worked for films such as Braveheart, The Last Samurai and Bourne Identity.
Talking about her experience with Nick, Aankita had earlier told Mumbai Mirror that she didn’t have any clue how to use a sword prior to the training. “Since then, he has taken me by the hand and shown me how to fight. He treats me like a kid and makes the training so entertaining. I’m indebted to Kamal (Jain, producer) sir for this challenging role in a big-budget film scripted by Baahubali writer KV Vijayendra Prasad,” Aankita said.
She is also taking horse riding lessons.
