‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ Continues To Increase Its Box Office Collection
Alankrita Shrivastava’s directorial, ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’ is still churning out money in its second week. According to reports, the movie’s total collection amounts to Rs. 13.27 crore, of which Rs. 10.94 crore were minted in the first week itself. Various critics believe it is not very usual for a small budget movie to do this well at box office.
The movie earned around 94 lacs on its second Friday. However, the collection increased to 1.37 crore on Saturday, pertaining to the spread of positive word of mouth. Movie critic, Taran Adarsh took to twitter to post about the success of the film. His tweet read, "#LipstickUnderMyBurkha refuses to slow down... [Week 2] Fri 94 lakhs, Sat 1.37 cr. Total: ₹ 13.27 cr. India biz".
The movie stars Aahana Kumrah, Konkona Sen Sharma and Plabita Borthakur in lead roles. The plot revolves around the lives of four women and their struggles. The film speaks for women empowerment.
