I was not referring to the girls: Tiger Shroff on calling his heroines ‘padding’
After facing backlash for calling his heroines “paddings”, Tiger Shroff, who’s getting ready for his forthcoming film Student of the Year, is now busy doing damage control.
“The reporter kept asking me about who my heroines in SOTY 2 are and she tried to also ask me if I’m pushing Disha (Patani) for my films. I just meant to say that all I care about are my role and work. Everything else depends on the director because ultimately, it’s his vision, after all,” DNA quoted the Munna Michael actor as saying.
“People who know me well know that I am not the kind of a guy to insult and disrespect women. I never called my heroines padding. I was referring to everything else about the film — how the director designs the film, shoots, and pads it up. I was talking about the structure and the padding around a film to make it larger and not about the girls at all,” he added.
The controversy erupted when, answering a question on how he felt working with newcomers, Tiger told Mumbai Mirror: “I don’t get involved with the casting at all. I don’t really care about the padding around me. It’s the script and my character that matter.”
Tiger is the only lead actor who has been finalised for Karan Johar’s Student of The Year 2 (SOTY2). There are rumours that Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara, Chunkey Pandey’s daughter Ananya or Sridevi’s daughter Jhanvi may be cast opposite him. Gossip mills also claim that Tiger has been pushing for his rumoured girlfriend Disha Patani as his heroine for the film.
Student Of The Year 2 is directed by Punit Malhotra and produced by Karan Johar.
