Alok Nath Turns 61 And Shares What He Misses The Most In Life
Veteran actor Alok Nath, who turns 61 today, has a plan much in tune with his on-screen sanskaari image. He’s looking forward to the family tradition of sweets being cooked at home, going to the temple to offer prayers and giving gifts to people who work for him. But, late in the evening, there might be a terrace party, he says.
“Birthdays are like any other days for me, except for what I have been doing for years. Also, like every year, my family will have small surprises ready for me. Junhai (his daughter) and Shivank (his son) usually have things planned and I look forward to that,” says Nath, who is known for his work in films as well as television. His close friends from both the industries convey their wishes to him on the special day.
Wishes from his fans also make his birthday special. “Gone are the days of letters and I miss them. My fans used to wish me via letters and I loved reading them. In this age of social media, everyone is connected to everyone else. And my fans also take time out to wish me on my birthday (on social media) and that is also something that I cherish,” adds the Maine Pyar Kiya (1989) actor.
Going down memory lane, the actor remembers how, as a kid, he used to be pampered by his parents and relatives. New clothes, delicacies and gifts would make his day all the more interesting. “Those days were fun. As a kid, I used to get very excited but now things are different. At this age more than celebration the other thought that comes to your mind is that your days are numbered,” he says adding, “But I still have time left to do a lot. And I will continue to give my best.”
The day also reminds Nath about how the cast and crew of his TV shows would celebrate his birthday on the sets. “It happened a couple of times with me. The common practice is to have goodies and cake on the set to celebrate someone’s birthday during breaks. It always feels good when people around shower love on you,” he says.
