Steven Soderbergh contributes $10K to help Spike Lee's Kickstarter campaign
The Out of Sight director Steven Soderbergh has secured a courtside seat for himself beside Spike Lee at a Knicks game. All this has happened due to his donation of $10,000 to the Kickstarter project initiated by Spike Lee to raise $1.25 million for his next film.
Lee has expressed his gratitude to the Kafka director in a recent interview for his immense support to independent filmmaking. The openhanded donation on Soderbergh’s part has also won him a dinner and basketball date with Lee as his reward. Lee confirmed, "I'm taking him to dinner and we're going to the game together.” He added, "I don't even know if he likes sports, so I'm gonna pick the game for him.” He thanked the filmmaker saying, "But I'm giving a huge shout-out to my man Steven Soderbergh for the support and I'm really humbled with Steven coming on board and doing that. Thank you, Steven."
