Kabir Khan: As A Filmmaker I Make Films To Express My Viewpoint
Kabir Khan is a filmmaker who is known for emphasising on the political issues that affects ordinary people with his movies. The director said that he knows that a movie cannot create an impact on the masses but he has hope that the cinema has the potential to change one’s perspective. The director’s upcoming flick ‘Tubelight’ stars Salman Khan and Sohail Khan.
Regarding the talk of whether the movie can create an impact on the society, Khan was quoted as saying, "It is not powerful enough to change the society; but hey, the fact that a film can make people think and discuss something itself is powerful enough". On being asked about whether his movies portray his views on politics, Kabir was quoted as saying, "Absolutely! Like the way a painter paints to express his view, I as a filmmaker make films to express my viewpoint, my perspective on things“.
The director closed his statement saying, “My ideology comes out in my films and I believe that we should have our ideology, without that we would be animals". The movie is based upon the India-China war in 1962. The movie is slated to release on June 23, 2017.
