Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani To Produce Web Series

If recent media reports are to be trusted, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani are planning to bankroll a web series based on novel Taj: A Story of Mughal India. The novel has been penned by Timeri N. Murari, who has skilfully recreated the period against which the story is set. The novel speaks about the message that love is all powerful and narrates the story of the Taj on two parallel levels.

Farhan and Ritesh will produce the series under their banner Excel Entertainment. A source revealed that the rights to Taj: A Story of Mughal India have already been acquired and it will be directed by a top director. Considering the fact that the audience is quite keen about knowing things based on history, we assume that the upcoming series will be an interesting one and will be able to fetch a large amount of audience toward itself.

On the professional front, Farhan will next be seen in Lucknow Central, which is being directed by Ranjit Tiwari. The film will feature Farhan essaying the role of a prisoner. The flick is scheduled for a September release this year.
