Sanjay Dutt gets a new assignment, making paper files and doing paper-binding
Bollywood’s convicted actor Sanjay Dutt is left with 42 months to spend inside the jail and he has been given his new assignments to be looked after. He will be making paper files and doing paper-binding work as jail authorities will not let him communicate with other prisoners, due to security reasons.
Dutt will be doing his daily chores inside his cell in Maximum Security Enclosure 3. Last Wednesday the actor was shifted toYerawada jail from Arthur Road jail amid high security and out of the public glare. Last time when Sanjay was serving his jail term he was asked to make knitting yarn cane chairs. One such chair created by him was even up for auction after he got out on bail.
On anonymity plea, a senior state jail officer informed, “The last time when Dutt was in Yerawada jail, he was given the task of making cane chairs. However, this time, he will not be given the same task. We are thinking of giving him another indoor job so that he does not mingle with the other inmates.” To follow the rules, an inmate’s strengths and weaknesses are analysed by the counsellors and accordingly work is assigned to any individual intimate. The officer also added, “The convicts are paid wages varying from Rs25 to Rs40 on the completion of the assigned job. Besides, they are also rewarded with a remission in punishment for good work and good conduct.”
