Randhir Kapoor: I am a private and very boring person unlike Rishi Kapoor
Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor is a private man and quite the opposite of his brother, actor Rishi Kapoor, who doesn’t believe in mincing his words. While Rishi recently made some shocking revelations and confessions in his autobiography, Khullam Khulla, Randhir says he doesn’t see a point in writing a book on his life. “I’m a very boring man. I have a wife, two kids and that’s about all. I have the same friends and same girlfriends. Whoever was there, stays there. I can’t ever think of writing a book or an autobiography. I’m a little private person,” he says.
Randhir says that he has read Rishi’s book and is quite impressed by it. “It’s very nice because people want to read and know about his life. Everybody knows about my career and on the personal and family front, whatever Rishi has mentioned and written in the book, must hold true for me also,” he explains, adding, “I must have gone through the same situations. We are in same industry, same family and we meet same friends, there’s hardly anything new you’d get to know about me.”
Rishi does all that tweet business. He has his own life and he has his own way of handling things. It’s not my thing. I have no Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account.
Even when it comes to social media, Randhir says he’s quite unlike Rishi, who is known for his boisterous, and sometimes obnoxious ways of dealing with trolls on Twitter. “Ah, he does all that tweet business. He has his own life and he has his own way of handling things. It’s not my thing. I have no Facebook, Twitter or Instagram account,” says Randhir who remained aloof from controversies involving his daughters — be it actor Kareena Kapoor Khan’s baby Taimur’s name or actor Karisma Kapoor link-up rumours.
Considering that almost all senior actors have joined twitter and quite active there voicing their viewpoints, does Randhir plan to make his social media debut anytime soon? “You see I’m a very personal man. I might have a very large exterior but I am basically quite a sober and simple man. I don’t really believe in making a nomaish (public display) of myself on social media,” he maintains adding that “it’s all too time consuming and I’m not interested in that. Trollers ko karne do, maze lene do (let people have a field day trolling); whatever doesn’t concern us, we don’t bother.”
