The Beguiled Trailer Is Quite Intriguing

Veteran screenwriter-director Sofia Coppola is back with her next project, The Beguiled. The movie is inspired from the 1966 novel, A Painted Devil by Thomas P. Cullinan. The star cast comprises of Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, Kirsten Dunst And Colin Farrell.

The story is set in the backdrop of the Civil War, and is about an isolated Southern boarding school for girl. The plot takes a turn when a wounded union soldier found nearby and treated at the seminary, his stay brings in seduction, envy and betrayal.

Cappola said, "The main crux of the story is about the dynamics between a group of women all stuck together, and then also the power shifts between men and women," Coppola told Entertainment Weekly. "So for me, it's very universal, but it's in this exotic setting of the Southern gentility". She added it’s very universal, but at the same time it has an exotic setting of the southern high class.
