Has This Star Kid Replaced Disha Patani In Student of The Year Sequel?

Filmmaker Karan Johar has finalised actor Tiger Shroff to play the lead in the sequel to Student Of The Year (SOTY), but the female lead of the movie is yet to be locked. There is no clarity on it yet, but there are rumours that Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara has replaced Disha Patani, who was last seen in MS Dhoni.

According to a report in Spotboye on Friday,Sara has been finalised for the role. “Naturally, Disha is disappointed. She had kept a chunk of dates aside for SOTY 2 and may now have an empty date diary,” the report quoted a source as saying.

Reports also claimed that Sara’s mother Amrita Singh wanted Karan to launch her daughter in the industry since her film opposite Hrithik Roshan was taking more time than expected to complete.

It was earlier reported that Sara would star in Karan’s Fault in our Stars remake.

Hindustan Times could not independently verify the report.

KJo’s 2012 hit directorial gave the film industry three young stars — Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. “The first SOTY film was a love triangle set in a college campus, but the second won’t have another leading man. It’s a solo-hero film. Karan has always been a Jackie Shroff fan. Working with his son is something he wanted to do from the time Tiger was ready to make his debut,” a source had earlier told Hindustan Times.
