Kamal Haasan, RJ Balaji Plead Protesters To End Protest
As police swung into action to end the protests over the ban on Jallikattu, veteran star Kamal Haasan lent his support to the students and youth. He insisted them to not to be aggressive as police action on students' submissive confrontation will not bear good results and thereby persuaded the protesters to follow a non-violent path. Along with Haasan was RJ-actor Balaji, who also pleaded the protesters to go home.
The 62-year-old Haasan took to his twitter account and wrote, "This is a mistake. Aggressive police action on students passive resistance will not bear good results. "The protests which were held calmly over the last week should not turn violent like it is turning now, he added. He appealed to the protestors and youth to end the protest and head for their home. He said, “Protests are over. Please go home."
He also pleaded to the students and protesters to not to resort to violent behavior. Kamal Haasan urged the public to take up the peaceful path and requested that neither students nor public should resort to violence. He also raised his voice against violence in Alanganallur, prominent for holding the sport.
