Box Office Report: Aamir Khan's Dangal Crosses One More Milestone
Dangal is in elite company.
Aamir Khan's heavily anticipated film Dangal released to critical acclaim and box office success last weekend. And that good fortune spilled into the week as the film continued to earn extraordinarily. And this culminated to the film crossing the coveted Rs 200 crore mark on Friday, exactly a week after its release day.
With this, the fllm became only the 11th Bollywood film to cross this landmark.
The film, which had earned Rs 197.53 crore by Thursday, breezed into the Rs 200 crore club, with estimated earnings of Rs 20-25 crore. The film will now will seek to enter into the Rs 300 crore club, thus becoming only the 4th film to do so.
This was confirmed by leading trade analyst, Taran Adarsh:
The film is expected to do exceedingly week this weekend as well. What remains to be seen is that whether the film will beat Salman Khan's Sultan (Rs 300.45 crore) and become the highest grossing film of 2016. Not only that, if the film continues its momentum it can also challenge Aamir Khan's own film PK (Rs 340.8 crore), to become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of all time.
