Journalist, Comedian Cho Ramaswamy Dies At 82
Indian actor and journalist Cho Ramaswamy died on Wednesday at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. He was 82. With Jayalalitha’s demise, the country has lost another legend. Srinivasa Iyer Ramaswamy, who was popularly known as Cho Ramaswamy was not only a flawless comedian and actor but was also a prolific political satirist, editor, playwright and dialogue writer, film director and a proficient lawyer in Tamil Nadu.
As per reports, the founder and editor of the political magazine Thuglak was battling for life in the hospital. Mr Ramaswamy had built a personal rapport with late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and was a close friend of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was also a former member of the BJP Rajya Sabha.
He was multitalented and prolific. He had written, directed and acted in over 20 Tamil plays which raked a lot of attention from the audience. Mr Ramaswamy has acted in 180 films and directed four films. Thus, it is very distressing for the country to bear the loss of two icons.
