M. Night Shyamalan Talks About Hollywood
After making a strong directorial debut with ‘The Sixth Sense’, Indian-American filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan showed he had potential. A few of his follow up films helped establish the director as the ‘king of twists’. Then, his next set of films failed to attract the audiences which started raising doubts in the minds of people about his capabilities. Even after all the drops in his career, Shyamalan never let anything affect his vision of filmmaking.
The director certainly redeemed himself with the 2015 thriller ‘The Visit’. The movie got good reviews and helped the audiences have a positive mindset for his upcoming flick ‘Split’. Shyamalan was recently present at AFI Fest in Los Angeles where he spoke about his filmmaking and revealed that twists were never a defining feature for him.
“I don’t think of it like that... like I’ve got to bust out the big dance move everybody wants. It’s not like that”, said the director adding, “It’s more about what is this story you’re telling and how are you telling that story”. ‘Split’ is being touted as a psychological horror tale which will hit the screens on January 20 next year.
