'Rustom Is Going To Save A Lot Of Marriages' Says Akshay Kumar
It’s no secret that Akshay Kumar’s long awaited Rustom is based on the theme of extra-marital relationships and largely inspired from the famous 1959 real life incident of Naval Officer Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati, who shot his wife’s lover Prem Ahuja with his service revolver. The story got exceptional media coverage and became a case that changed the face of the Indian judicial system. Of late, the Airlift actor spoke up about the movie, stating that the film is going to stop marriages from getting ruined.
Talking about the movie, Akshay said, “It is a different subject, it is based on real-life stories and it is the first time somebody is playing a Parsi Navy officer, neither has anybody played a Parsi main lead or an officer's role”. When the macho hunk of Bollywood was asked about that one thing he wishes to take back from the movie, Akshay replied, “I am going to take my uniform. And I am not only going to take back, on the contrary, this film is going to give, it is going to save a lot of marriages and is going to stop people from taking divorce, you invest so much into a relationship, so this film is going to tell you what goes into it”.
Celebrities such as Salman Khan, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, Sonam Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha have come up with their support for the flick. About having such strong backs, the actor said, “It's great when the industry supports you and I'm very thankful to Salman for starting this and also to Ranveer, Sonakshi, Karan Johar, Sonam. It is nice to see the whole fraternity coming together and doing this... It helps a lot, their fans also watch that they are saying that 'you should go and watch it’”.
Scheduled for release on August 12, the movie is directed by Tinu Suresh Desai and stars Ileana D'Cruz as the female lead. Desimartini wishes strokes of luck to the entire team of Rustom.
