Daisy Ridley: No More On Instagram After Receiving Online Abuse

The 24-year-old English actress, Daisy Ridley, has taken a break from social media. The actress has to bear online abuse and mistreatments that forced the actress to delete her Instagram account. The entire buzz started when Daisy paid tribute to the victims of gun violence in America.

Ridley, after attending the Teen Choice Awards 2016 on Sunday, posted on her social media platform, “As I sat in the audience yesterday, tears were streaming down my face at the tribute to those that have been lost to gun violence. I didn’t get a great picture of the incredible group that came onstage but they were so brave. It was a true moment of togetherness. We must ‪#‎stoptheviolence.”

Some fans of the Star War actress praised her words, but she was also accused of hypocrisy by some users. In a while after the post, Daisy’s Instagram account which had more than 738,000 followers, vanished. The actress was supported by her Star Wars co-star John Boyega. He told his fans on Instagram that Ridley “is doing what’s best for her” and added that he “won’t be advising [his] friend to come back”.
