Shankar's I Rules 63rd Filmfare Awards South
Director Shankar’s hit ‘I’ has won several awards at the 63rd Filmfare Awards South 2016, bagging them in as many as four categories. The movie has got the prizes in categories, included the best actor in Tamil, best music director, best lyrics and best playback singer (male) for 'Ennodo Nee Irundhal' in the film. The soundtracks and music were composed by singer A. R. Rahman, who was honored by the award for the best music director, during the event presented by Britannia.
The venture was co-written by Subha. It was produced and distributed by V. Ravichandran, under his production company, Aascar Films. The Tamil romantic thriller drama featured Vikram and Amy Jackson in the lead roles.
Whereas, Suresh Gopi, Upen Patel, Santhanam and Ramkumar Ganesan have played pivotal roles in the film, which received almost positive reviews from critics. The dubbing of film was done and released in Telugu and Hindi along with the Tamil version. The grand ceremony was hosted by actors Chinmayee and Rahul Ravindran, who managed well to entertain the guests with their wisecracks.
