Gerard Butler’s Geostorm Pushed Nine Months At Cost Of Affleck’s Live By Night
In a setback to Gerard Butler’s fans, Warner Bros. has delayed the Geostorm by nine months to October 20, 2017. It is a science-fiction-action-thriller directed and produced by Dean Devlin. The move came after the giant studio pushed forward Ben Affleck’s crime drama Live by Night by same duration to January 13, 2017 — taking the slots of Geostorm.
Affleck will be directing the flick, which is based on Dennis Lehane novel with the same name. The case member comprises of Affleck, Chris Messina, Sienna Miller, Brendan Gleeson, Zoe Saldana, Chris Cooper and Elle Fanning. It also delayed The Lego Movie 2 that will now open on Feb. 8, 2019, with the purpose to utilize the same opening weekend that The Lego Movie garnered in 2014.
Coming back to Geostorm, the flick will be the feature directorial debut of Dean Devlin, co-producer of 1996’s Independence Day. Gerard starrer flick is being produced by Devlin’s Electric Entertainment with Skydance Productions. The film centers on a satellite designer, trying to prevent disaster when the world’s climate control satellite fail to function.
