Delhi Belly Sequel On Cards
Aamir Khan Productions in collaboration with director Abhinay Deo presented the one of its kind film, Delhi Belly, which perhaps had changed the face of Indian cinema when it released in 2011. The Indian black comedy film that became controversy’s favourite for the use of expletives, will soon be hitting the theatres with a sequel. Abhinay Deo, the commercial director turned film director, has revealed that currently he and writer Akshat Verma are busy with their respective projects but they have a sequel of Imran Khan, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Vir Das starrer film in mind.
PTI quoted Abhinay as saying, “We had thought of it (sequel). But the writer Akshat Verma is doing another film and I am busy with my own work. So hopefully in a few years we will be able to do a sequel”.
The director said that he believes that Delhi Belly had opened doors for adult comedy films. “I discussed the sequel with Aamir and Akshat. Akshat had taken nine years to make the film and this time if it happens he might take a little less time. I think 'Kya Kool Hai Hum' and 'Masti' series are different from 'Delhi Belly'. Our film was a smart adult comedy and it opened doors for a different kind of films”, he added.
