Author George R.R. Martin says that he is ‘tired’ of the villains in the Marvel movies. He feels that they need to be more interesting and should possess different abilities than their superhero counterparts. Martin is responsible for the novel series ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ which is the basis for the hit show Game of Thrones.

Martin wrote about Ant-Man in his blog, “a proper balance of story, character, humour, and action”, but was unsatisfied with the villain. He also wrote, “I am tired of this Marvel movie trope where the bad guy has the same powers as the hero. The Hulk fought the Abomination, who is just a bad Hulk. Spider-Man fights Venom, who is just a bad Spider-Man. Iron Man fights Ironmonger, a bad Iron Man. Yawn. I want more films where the hero and the villain have wildly different powers. That makes the action much more interesting”.

The 66-year-old author has written five books in the series A Song of Ice and Fire, with the first book titled ‘A Game of Thrones’. The fifth book is titled ‘A Dance with Dragons’, which was adopted in the fifth season of Game of Thrones. The sixth part in the novel series titled ‘The Winds of Winter’ is yet to be announced.
