Aamir Khan bats for ‘swift and certain conviction’ of rapists in India
As he comes as the profound choice from the film industry to speak on social and sensitive issues, Aamir Khan in New York spoke what has to be done in India to ensure the country a women friendly one. Once again, the actor spoke with his thoughts being in the right place.
Aamir Khan, who recently turned 50, spoke in New York at the sixth annual “Women in the World” summit organised by famous journalist and author Tina Brown along with the New York Times. Terming rape a ‘big issue’ in India, Aamir said, “The balance of power in India needs to change. Unless conviction becomes swift and certain, things are not going to change in India. And very very importantly, as a society we have to shun the rapist and hold the survivor close.”
Aamir has always been to be vocal about his thoughts on social issues especially after his show Satyamev Jayate garnered humongous popularity. The actor would soon be shooting for his next Dangal where he plays a wrestler.
