Taapsee Pannu roped in for pan-Indian sci-fi film Alien
The gorgeous and incredibly talented Taapsee Pannu is one of the most versatile performers of the Indian film industry and watching her shine on-screen is an absolute delight for the audience. Well much to our delight the actress, who currently has many exciting projects in the pipeline, has been roped in for a pan-Indian project. Tentatively titled Alien, the sci-fi film will be helmed by Barath Neelakantan and will be shot in multiple languages. Buzz suggests that Alien will be a visual effects-heavy film with the VFX budget amounting to around 10 crore.
In a report shared by ETimes, a source was quoted saying, “It will be a science-fiction film that deals with aliens; in fact, its title will be Alien. But the story will be a totally fresh take on the genre. It will not have any influences of the many Hollywood alien films we have seen so far. The director has come up with a premise that explores how aliens might be in a country like India.” The report further states that the team has begun prep and makers are aiming at keeping Alien a ‘Make in India’ project.
Other than Alien, Taapsee has various other films in her kitty including Haseen Dillruba, Jana Gana Mana, Anurag Kashyap’s Dobaaraa, Looop Lapeta with Tahir Raj Bhasin, Rashmi Rocket, Mithali Raj’s biopic Shabaash Mithu and Annabelle Subramaniam co-starring Vijay Sethupathi. Which film are you looking forward to most?
