Shraddha Kapoor To Play Naagin In Nikhil Dwivedi's Trilogy, Says She's Always Wanted To Play A Role Rooted In Indian Folklore
Shraddha To Play Naagin In Nikhil Dwivedi's Trilogy
Naagins seem to be a rage amongst the Indian audiences. You might diss how 'naagins' are currently being shown on Indian TV, but there is no denying that they have a charm that is difficult to avoid. In fact, before being popularised in TV, Sridevi immortalised the concept through her portrayal of the mythical shape-shifters. Now, it seems like the creature would finally make a comeback on the big-screen as well. Shraddha Kapoor has been roped in to play a new-age Naagin for Nikhil Dwivedi's films.
According to a report in TOI, it will be a trilogy produced by Nikhil. Shraddha met him in his office yesterday and finalised the deal. Confirming the news, the actress said, “It’s an absolute delight to play a 'naagin' on screen. I have grown up watching, admiring and idolising Sridevi ma’am in 'Nagina' and 'Nigahen' and always wanted to play a similar role that is rooted in Indian folklore.”
The film is yet to be titled. It will be directed by Marathi director Vishal Furia. The makers are also planning to mount it on a big scale and add ample VFX. The film sounds exciting and we will be waiting for more details on the same.
