Aamir’s refusal to Karan gave way for ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’

Things didn’t go down the way they were supposed to when Aamir Khan and Karan Johar came so close to be working together. A recent revision of activities revealed that Karan was intending to direct Aamir Khan but an apparent refusal by the actor gave way for Karan to make Ae Dil Hai Mushkil instead.

According to sources, Karan who was wanting to work Mr. Perfectionist for a long time was in talks with him for a script until Aamir decided to not do it. Karan was scripting a matured love story with Aamir in mind and had given up on the other idea of a partition love story away. While the script led to a certain shape up, the actor found himself not too comfortable and abstained by letting Karan know of the decision. That was the point when Karan shaped the project in another direction to make Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

The film that now stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai and reportedly Saif Ali Khan is again a modern matured love story dealing with relationship issues. While we may not have been able to see the duo coming together here, let’s hope the two do collaborate for some other project. Shahrukh who apparently is considered the closest to Karan hasn’t been on very warm terms with the Dharma chief lately, in fact Karan has already signed Salman Khan for Shuddhi that will go on the floors later next year.
