Angad Hasija On Being Called A 'Druggie' And Falsely Being Linked To NCB's Probe: My Mother Fell Sick, I Was Numb
Angad Hasija On Being Called A 'Druggie'
Angad Hasija was one of the big names from the television industry whose name was highlighted in the media for allegedly consuming drugs along with his Bidaai co-star Sara Khan. Last month when the Narcotics Control Bureau was busy sending summons to big names from the entertainment industry, reports were that Sara and Angad too will be called in by the NCB for questioning.
These unconfirmed reports came after TV couple Sanam Johar, and Abigail Pandey were called in by the NCB. Angad and Sara however were not summoned but the news did sufficient damage to their reputation. The Bidaai actor has now opened up about how he was devastated post these rumours, he tells ETimes he was being called a druggie by trolls on social media who mocked him saying he acted well because he did drugs.
The actor also revealed that he was shooting for a Punjabi show when he learnt of such reports floating around and said, “My mother fell sick after she heard this news. As for me, I was too numb to react to what was being reported about me. It hurts me to say that we live in a time where people only want masala, even if it is at the cost of someone’s reputation and years of hard work. I was devastated. Had my family not extended their support during this time, I would have collapsed. I pray that no one goes through the trauma I underwent.”
The actor says he is a teetotaler and has never even smoked a cigarette or had a drink.
