Mirzapur 2: Pankaj Tripathi Opens Up About His Character Kaleen Bhaiyya, Calls It A 2.0 Version Of Mogambo, Shakaal And Gabbar

Pankaj Tripathi is all set to terrorise the hearts of not just the people of Mirzapur but make audiences too gape in awe with the second season of the Prime web-series. While fans just can't wait to see Guddu Bhaiyya seek his revenge, there's no escaping Kaleen Bhaiyya, who reigns over the town. As we wait, Pankaj Tripathi has opened up more about his character.

Talking to Mid-Day, the actor opened up about how today's villains are starkly different than the yesteryear villains. He said, "Earlier, the idea of villains was limited; they were over-the-top in their tonality. With Mirzapur, Gurgaon and Sacred Games, I have explored the dark side of the human psyche in depth. They are writing negative characters that do more than have an ominous laugh. There are strong backstories that define why the man is a certain way." Talking about Kaleen Bhaiyya in particular, he added, "He doesn't look outright villainous because you are familiar with the many facets of the man. He is a 2.0 version of Mogambo, Shakaal and Gabbar of yesteryear."
