Rhea Chakraborty Arrested By NCB For Alleged Drug Links; Sushant Singh Rajput’s Sister Says ‘God Is With Us’

Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend and actress Rhea Chakraborty has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau. The paperwork and formalities are currently underway, revealed NCB Deputy Director KPS Malhotra. The inquiry into the drug angle started a while ago after Rhea’s Whatsapp chats with alleged drug peddlers were retrieved. Her brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda had been arrested last week for procurement of drugs. Rhea was interrogated by the NCB for six hours on 6^th September, eight hours on 7^th September and then for five hours today before the arrest.

Latest reports suggest that the actress will be taken for a medical test shortly and is likely to be produced before a magistrate through video conferencing for remand today evening. While earlier buzz stated that Rhea has told the NCB that neither she nor her brother were involved in drug selling, reports are now claiming that she has allegedly confessed to buying drugs for Sushant. Reacting to her arrest, Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti shared a tweet which reads: “#GodIsWithUs” along with emojis of folded hands.

Last night, Rhea had filed an FIR against Sushant’s sisters Priyanka Singh, Meetu Singh, Dr Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohiya hospital and others accusing them of hatching conspiracy and giving banned drugs to Sushant without medical supervision. The Mumbai Police registered a case of abetment to suicide against the actor's sisters and the case has been transferred to the CBI for further investigation.
