Mrunal Thakur Had Auditioned For Dangal, Reveals Why She Lost Out On It

Mrunal Thakur is slowly but steadily making her way up in Bollywood. She had won hearts as Bulbul in Kumkum Bhagya and went on to stumble us with her performance in Love Sonya. She is the next hot thing in Bollywood with projects lined up one after the other! But did you know, she had auditioned for Dangal as well at the start of her Bollywood career?

Talking about it, she said that she was in the running for the audition of Dangal, but missed out on it. She revealed, "I remember I was testing for Dangal and Mukesh Chhabra was casting for it. The role was so tough; it needed workshops. They were selecting girls from all over India and I made it to top 20 or something. I remember I had to shoot for a Maha Episode for Holi for the show I was shooting for. I just couldn't a particular session of the workshop and I missed out on the film."

She also added that people still use the term 'TV actor' as a demeaning term. She said, "I absolutely agree that it demeans and it's said in derogatory fashion that oh, TV se aayi hai. I have been told so many times that you need to stop partying and putting up pictures with your TV friends; you're a film actor now. And I'm like, 'That's my past, I can't wipe it. I'm very proud of it'."

Well, many more TV actors have opened up about it and claimed how they are discriminated against in the film industry for being a TV star. We hope this stops now.
