Gouri Tonnk Quits Shakti, Says ‘My Family Needs Me More Than My Workplace’
Gouri Tonnk Quits Shakti
TV actress Gouri Tonnk had been entertaining us for decades. She was a part of Shakti, until the lockdown and she played the character of Parmeet in the show. Now, as the show is all set to resume the shoot, Gouri would not be joining it and the reason is her family and the current coronavirus pandemic.
Talking to BT, the actress said, “My younger daughter is only three years old and I am worried about her well-being. Also, my father-in-law recently suffered a heart attack, so I don’t want to add to his anxiety by returning to the city and resuming work. The production house informed me that they have arranged accommodation on the set in Naigaon. They are also taking safety precautions, but I realised that my family needs me more than my workplace. So, I quit with a heavy heart, though Parmeet was an interesting role.”
Gouri is in Sonipat right now, with Yash and their family. She also revealed that she would return to Mumbai when the situation normalizes and will then look for work. She also revealed that initially, only Yash was in Sonipat and she, along with their kids, had been in Mumbai. But due to the current situation in Mumbai and the rising COVID-19 cases, they went back to Sonipat as well. We hope the situation will normalize soon.
