Ranveer Singh Delaying Mankeshaw Narration Led Meghna Gulzar To Cast Vicky Kaushal?
Ranveer Singh Was The First Choice For Manekshaw
Ranveer Singh is probably one the busiest actor in Bollywood right now. After all, delivering back to back hits is no easy feat and his versatility certainly makes him a favorite among filmmakers. The actor’s busy schedule, however, seems to have cost him the opportunity to work with maverick filmmaker Meghna Gulzar who recently directed his wife Deepika Padukone in Chhapaak.
According to reports if all had gone well it could have been Ranveer Singh in Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw’s biopic instead of Vicky Kaushal. Apparently Ranveer Singh kept delaying the narration of the project so much that Meghna Gulzar finally gave up and approached Vicky Kaushal for the part. Vicky and Meghna have previously collaborated on Raazi which starred Alia Bhatt.
The first look of Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw is already out. The film is all set to release in 2021 and Vicky is presently busy with the shoot of Sardar Udham Singh while Ranveer Singh is presently waiting for the release for his sports film 83 which also stars Deepika Padukone. Ranveer will be playing Kapil Dev in the film which will release in April and then move onto Karan Johar’s Takht.
If not for Manekshaw, Ranveer Singh and Meghna Gulzar are definitely an actor-director combo we will love to see collaborating in the future.
