Mardaani cleared with ‘A’ certificate
Rani Mukerji-starrer Mardaani has been censored with an A certificate. The movie based on human trafficking and prostitution is the first Yash Raj film to clear with A-certificate. Directed by Pradeep Sarkar and produced by Aditya Chopra, the film is all set to hit the screens on Aug. 22.
A source says, “The film deals with child-trafficking and prostitution. This is why the film has been issued an A certificate.’’ The source further added that offensive language and a few naked scenes have been used in the movie. “Muting has been done away with now, so the Censor Board has just asked the makers to delete the objectionable words," the source further added.
Rani Mukerji, who was last seen in Reema Kagti's thriller Talaash in 2012, will be seen playing the role of a brave senior crime branch inspector named Shivani Shivaji Roy in this film. In fact, the power-packed action flick is going to be one of Rani Mukerji's boldest movies so far.
