The Zoya Factor: New Song Pepsi Ki Kasam Is An Excellently Shot Commercial, But We Ask Why?
Pepsi Ki Kasam Somg Breakdown
There are songs that you instantly love and they become a part of your lives and there are songs that you hear and instantly hate and that becomes a part of your life as well. And then, there are songs like Pepsi Ki Kasam from The Zoya Factor that have absolutely no impact on you.
Starring a very charming and dreamy Dulquer Salman and Sonam Kapoor, it is a Pepsi commercial, as it is probably supposed to be, and a well shot one at that, but musically it serves no purpose whatsoever. The video gives a faint hint in Tareefan in places but song sung by Benny Dayal and composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is just too meh. Even the lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya is just plain boring. I mean forget groundbreaking, ‘Tujhe Pepsi ki kasam, kar nakre thode kam’ is not even leaf shaking!
It is one of those songs that you are not going to be mad about, but not going to remember five minutes after hearing it. However, that being said, Dulquer brings his usual easy charm in the video and looks super cool as he busts a move. On the other hand, Sonam Kapoor has her hair flying in the air while wearing gorgeous clothes. We wonder where have we seen that before? (read sarcasm).
However, these days the songs, especially the remakes, have assaulted our senses so much that at this point getting an original composition that does not insult music, genders or human race is a welcome change, even if it is a montage of pointlessness like this one.
