Sonakshi Sinha Reportedly Roped In For Deepa Malik Biopic
Brace up people ‘cause there is another sports biopic coming your way. After 83, Saina Nehwal Biopic, Abhinav Bindra biopic, PT Usha biopic and a few more, it is now time to now bring the story of Paralympic Silver Medalist Deepa Mehta alive on-screen.
If reports are to be believed then Sonakshi Sinha has been roped to play Deepa’s character in the film. The film will be, reportedly, produced by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment.
Deepa Malik has been an icon for many and the biopic is surely going to be as inspiring as her incredible journey. Despite being confined to her wheelchair, Deepa has won more than 54 National Medals in shot put. She had also gold in the F-53/54 Javelin event at the para athletic grand Prix held in Dubai in 2018. She currently is the world number one in the F-53 category.
Not just that, Deepa is also interested in various adventure sports as well. She is associated with Himalayan Motorsports Association (H.M.A.) and Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (F.M.S.C.I.). She has undertaken an 8-day, 1700-km drive in sub-zero temperatures which included a climb to 18000 feet. It was – Raid De Himalaya.
Given Sonakshi’s skill in stunt and action, she might be a great fit to play this badass woman on screen.
