Akshay’s Sooryavanshi Might Be A Copy Of Theeran And We Have Reasons To Believe So
Is Akshay's Sooryavanshi Copied From Tamil Film Theeran?
These days all you need to do to know about Sooryavanshi is switch on your internet. After the stupendous success of Simmba, Rohit Shetty and Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi is probably the most talked about film right now.
Just like Simmba was a remake of the Telugu superhit Temper, Sooryavanshi might also be ‘inspired’ from the blockbuster Tamil film Theeran Adhigaram Ondru. But things are not that simple. While Simmba was an official remake of Temper, makers of Sooryavanshi are claiming that the film is based on an original story and has nothing to do with Theeran.
However, Twitteratis do not seem convinced. And we are being perfectly honest, we also have reasons to believe that Twitter is indeed on to something with this one.
Firstly, Theeran is based on the Operation Bawaria of 2005 where extreme measures were taken to eliminate a band of dacoits who were operational in affluent areas around the National Highway that connects Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra.
Theeran was a dramatized version of the event where a high ranking police official named Theeran Thirumaran ( Karthi) who finally manages to nab the leader of the dacoit gang, losing his family in the process.
If you look at the story in a nut-shell it is something very close to what Rohit Shetty’s brand of cinema is. We can totally imagine Rohit Shetty making a film like this.
Also, this might just be a coincidence, but Theeran was distributed by Reliance Entertainment and Sooryavanshi will also be distributed by them.
The rumors of Sooryavanshi being copied from Theeran caught the wind as when a major daily reported that Shetty was actually in the process of acquiring the rights of the film for Sooryavanshi.
Despite, makers refuting the rumors, things will perhaps only be cleared when Sooryavanshi finally releases and we can see for ourselves if it is copied or not.
