Deepika Padukone Apologises To Her Fans For Not Winning Award For Her Performance In Padmaavat

Actor Deepika Padukone’s fuss-free monochrome look at the Filmfare Awards may have won the red carpet but the actor lost the Best Actress award to Alia Bhatt’s Raazi. While Deepika was seen cheering for Alia, her fans were left disappointed. One of her fan clubs expressed its disappointment, writing on social media, “It was the toughest and the most challenging role for her and she has given her everything, and she really deserved some recognition & respect for that hard work.” It went on to say how the award could have been given to both Alia and Deepika.

Taking note of the situation, Deepika replied to post, promising to “work harder than ever before.”

The fanpage called out the awards, saying, “Y’all will never understand, the tears, the heartbreaking , her blood & sweat & her dedication to this role. it was the toughest & the most challenging role for her and she has given her everything, & she really deserved some recognition & respect for that hardwork and at that phase & its safe to say that we are really done with slb and his titular roles for the next 5 years.”

Giving an example of Ranveer Singh and Ayushmann Khurrana, it also added, “If Filmfare can give a tie between ranveer & ayushmaan for the best actor, then what was the problem with deepika ? why not tie between alia and deepika?”

Deepika had earlier celebrated singer Shreya Ghoshal, who won the Best Playback singer award and Kruti Mahesh Midya and JyotiTomaar, who won the Best Choreography award for the Padmaavat song Ghoomar.

Deepika has now started work on her next film Chhapaak, which went on the floors on Monday. She revealed her first look from the film that is based on the life of the acid attack survivor, Laxmi Agarwal.
