Fighter crosses Rs 100 crore: Here's how these other Republic Day releases did at the box office

The Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees was released in 2017 on January 25. It went on to become the highest-grossing films of that year and minted a total of Rs 304 crore

Before Fighter, Hrithik Roshan also had the film Kaabil which was a Republic Day release for him. The movie was again a success as it earned Rs 208.14 crore

Kaabil 

The Akshay Kumar starrer movie which was based on a real-life incident earned Rs 221.67 crore and was declared a hit since it was made in a budget of Rs 62 crore 

Airlift 

Made with a budget of Rs 25 crore, this action film became a success since it managed to cross the Rs 100 crore club. It earned Rs 143 crore and also had a sequel Naam Shabana 

Baby 

Salman Khan's Jai Ho which witnessed a Republic Day release became a huge hit and minted Rs 195.04 crore. The movie was made with a powerful social message

Although the film opened to mixed reviews, it was deemed a hit since it earned Rs 173.36 crore. It was however the last Race film to star Saif Ali Khan in the lead
