Things getting uglier: Adil Durrani files Rs 200 crore defamation case against Rakhi Sawant

Amid the ongoing legal battle between Rakhi Sawant and Adil Durrani, the latter has filed a defamation case citing a public attack on his reputation. Durrani has also sought Rs 200 crore compensation from Rakhi, who recently performed Umrah at Mecca.

In the video that surfaced online, Durrani can be seen talking to paparazzi about the defamation case he filed and his lawyer explaining it to the media. Durrani said that he has taken the step after Rakhi filed a ‘false’ Rs 100 crore defamation case against him last month. “We have filed a defamation case against Rakhi Sawant under section 200 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC, seeking criminal prosecution against her. We have also claimed a compensation of Rs 200 crore due to damages caused to Durrani’s reputation,” said Durrani’s lawyer.

Durrani was also heard recalling the memory when he was brought to the same court while wearing a black mask. He also told the paparazzi that the truth would ultimately prevail. For the unversed, disputes cropped up between Adil and Rakhi a few days after their court marriage. Rakhi had filed an FIR against Durrani accusing him of domestic violence, mishandling funds and torturing her. She also alleged that Durrani had cheated on her.

Following this Adil was arrested in February this year and came out of jail after six months. Soon after coming out of jail, Durrani also levelled many allegations against Rakhi. In a press conference, Durrani had claimed that Rakhi took lots of money in the form of donations for her mother’s treatment. However, Rakhi refuted the accusations against her. A few days back, Rakhi also accused Adil of hacking her Instagram account.

Meanwhile, Rakhi recently returned to India on Thursday morning after performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia. Rakhi, who has now become Fatima after adopting Islam had earlier said that she embraced Islam to marry Adil.
