Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: Complaint filed against producer Asit Modi in Jennifer Mistry sexual harassment case

The legal battle between Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah producer Asit Modi and actress Jennifer Mistry has been getting murkier with each passing day. Now, in the latest development, the Powai Police has registered a complaint against Modi along with Executive Producer Jatin Bajaj and Operation Head Sohail Ramani. The complaint has been filed under sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code based on the sexual harassment case which was filed by Jennifer.

According to a news report in Etimes, the police authorities have revealed that no arrests have been made till now. The report further adds that police officials have revealed that the FIR has been filed against Asit Modi and that the investigations are still on. There is also no clarity on whether Modi will be called to the police station to record his statement.

Apart from this, Jennifer Mistry also revealed to the publication that after waiting patiently regarding the case, she finally decided to go to the police station again last (June 19) night. The actress added that she was at the police station for quite a few hours from 7:30 pm to 12:30 pm. Mistry sounded relieved that finally, the authorities filed a complaint against Asit Modi and the others.

Meanwhile, the actress had earlier revealed to the same publication that there has been a lot of delay from the police authorities to take action against Asit Modi and the other makers of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Jennifer Mistry said that she had recorded her statement and had given all the proofs but still, she did not understand the reason for such a delay. Mistry added that she understood that something was fishy after her lawyer received a statement from Asit on the complaints made by her wherein he had made several allegations against her. The actress stressed that the producer made all false allegations against her to buy some time and not let the investigation proceed.
