    Sonu Sood is the new host of MTV Roadies and the actor has now spoken about what convinced him to get on board for the edgy reality TV show.

    Sonu Sood forays into TV with MTV Roadies season 18, the adventure based reality show which has been generation defining. The actor replaced long time host of the show Ranvijay Singha as the makers decided to give the show a makeover and it definitely raised a few eyebrows.

    In a recent interview, Sonu spoke about joining Roadies as host and was reminded of the show’s reputation of being edgy, something that people didn’t associate with him so far despite being known as a good looking and fit Bollywood actor. During the chat RJ Siddharth Kannan asked Sonu is he feels hesitant before trying something edgy like Roadies to which the actor said, “Jab mujhe Roadies offer hua tha, tab main bhi yahi puch raha tha, ‘yaar badi cheezin hoti hain wahan pe main kaise kar paunga?’”

    He further added that the makers then told him that while they wanted to maintain the DNA of the show with adventure and fun but they also wanted to create a new world with the new season and wanted to revamp the show on a larger scale.

    Sonu who shot for his debut season of Roadies in South Africa recently also added, “Koi script nahi hota Roadies mein. Jo hota hai aap wahi kar rahe ho zindagi mein aur wahi humne kiya. And that’s the magic and rawness you will experience in this season.”

    Sonu Sood who has been a part of several films in Bollywood and the South gained prominence during the pandemic where rose to the occasion and lent a helping hand to the common people struggling during the lockdowns.

    His humanitarian efforts have made him the hero of the common man and it is definitely paying off on the work front too as the actor has gained bigger and better work offers.

    Roadies season 18 premiered on MTV this week.
