Shark Tank India: When Anupam Mittal surprised Aman Gupta with his 'Gyaan on Bhang', latter had hilarious reply
After his appearance as a show judge, Anupam Mittal has gained immense popularity among audiences of all age groups.
Shark Tank India fame Anupam Mittal emerged as one of the favourite judges on the reality show for his charming personality and forthright attitude. The Shaadi.com founder has never shied from expressing his opinion on matters of his interest. But what surprised his co-judges the most was his knowledge and interest in ‘Bhang’(a kind of drug).
It happened during a pitch of Jayanti Bhattacharya, who took the stage and promoted her startup company, India Hemp and Co. For the unversed, hemp is made from one of the same plant species (Cannabis sativa) as marijuana. Bhattacharya introduced the hemp-based oils, and trail mixes having unmatchable health benefits. However, the judges' panel was quite confused about the probable effect of the product and started throwing questions if it will end up intoxicating the consumer. Then the well-informed Anupam came to the rescue and cleared their doubts.
He said, “Woh alag hai bhang hai bhai, woh joh bhang ata hai woh marjiuana plant ke root se ata hai jisse nasha hota hai, (This is different, it is Bhang, brother, the other cannabis is from the root of the marijuana plant, which causes intoxication) Listening to him, Aman Gupta( BoAt cofounder quipped, “Aapko bada knowledge lag raha bhaiya”(You seem to have great knowledge, brother), and Namita Thapar (Emcure pharmaceuticals cofounder) also poked fun, “Good point, good point”. To which Anupam replied, “ Mujhe sab cheez me knowledge hai”(I have knowledge in everything) and left everyone in splits.
Meanwhile, apart from the aforementioned judges, successful entrepreneurs Peyush Bansal (Lenkart), Ghazal Alagh (Mamaearth), Ashneer Grover (BharatPe) and Vineeta Singh(Sugar cosmetic) were also a part of the judges’ panel in the first season of Shark Tank India. The show premiered in December last year and ended in a couple of months, but the craze around it continues to grow on various social platforms.
